MF, BTC, weee! Oh my. I feel wonderful. What a good way to start an entry too.. how often does this happen? Last night I saw Melissa Ferrick. There just that something about her that completely amazed me. She sang with more emotion than anyone I've seen. And she was so real. Wow. I went with Emily. Poor Emily was kinda squished, and that annoyed her, but I hope she still had fun. I was surrounded by teenage girls. That was annoying. But like I said, it was still amazing. Melissa Ferrick uses the most powerful facial expressions when she plays. Wow. And she talks to the audience. And she's just so much more grounded than any of the other ladies I've seen in concert. It makes sense, as she's not as famous. But it definitely made it better. She's so cute too. Sooo cute. I enjoyed her immensely. During "Drive," she was so into it, and she had such an orgasmic sense about her, it was so good. So powerful. I loved it. Unfortunately, she didn't sing my favorite song: "Win 'em over," but that's forgiveable. She did some of my other favorites, so it's all good. But there was also something about the songs I didn't know. When Ani sings new music, it's just kinda like.. ehh, new music. But when Melissa sang stuff I didn't know, she still reached me somehow. Because of the way she sings, the way she connects to me personally. Plus, it helped that I was right at the stage, and the venue (axis) is really small to begin with. I felt very involved. The other negative thing was that it was hard to hear her lyrics and her talking sometimes. The crowd was pretty loud. So yeah, I wish I'd been able to hear better. And I wish I'd been more towards the middle, where I could have seen her better. I was in the front right corner. Anyway. After Beautiful melissa (f!), Emily and I came back and watched "Better than Chocolate." Wow, I liked it so much! What's this? a good lesbian movie? whoa! tehe. The girls were both exceptionally cute, I thought. And... I don't know. I just really liked it. It was funny and emotional and steamy, and had all the issues. Yeah. Gooood movie. Sweet! And now it's Saturday. I'm having lunch with my new friend Kim, whom I first laid eyes on last night, at the show. yay! I'm really super excited about this. Later Megan and I are having girls night (baking and movies!!). And I'm going to return Lauren's movies for her, since yeah, they're still sitting in the living room, ecrewing massive late fees. I love you!! | |
